Nanny and Sitter Scholarships
Amslee Institute is proud to offer a limited number of scholarships each year. Current scholarships provide financial support to students who are eligible for the Basic and Intermediate Childcare programs. Scholarships are available through financial gifts provided by childcare businesses, nanny agencies, and individuals who support childcare training. The Herk Scholarship pays for one student to enroll in the Intermediate Childcare Diploma and Certification. The Office of Admissions selects a recipient from those who apply and qualify to receive up to $550 in tuition and fees.
Application Deadline: 11:59 p.m. EST on April 30, 2020.
The Nivens Scholarship pays for two students to enroll in the Basic Childcare Diplomas and Certification. The Office of Admissions selects two recipients from those who apply and qualify to receive up to $350 in tuition and fees.
Application Deadline: 11:59 p.m. EST on September 15, 2019.
To apply for the Herk or Nivens scholarship, students must meet eligibility requirements that include technical and program requirements. Applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or have a permanent resident card
- Must be 18 years of age or older with government-issued identification with birth date
- Have earned a standard high school diploma or its equivalency
- Certified in CPR and First Aid
Scholarships require an application. To apply:
- Download the Application form as a PDF (blank) or Word doc (fill in) file. If unable to download, you can request a copy of the application form by emailing email@example.com and a file will be attached and emailed directly to you.
- Complete all inputs including 2 written essays (250 words maximum) and sign.
- Save or scan all pages into a single PDF file.
- Email completed application (PDF file) to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the deadline.

Award Procedures and Disbursement
Eligible and selected students will receive an award equal to the Amslee Institute Basic or Intermediate programs. The award may not be used to pay for remedial coursework or other education. When selected and notified, students must provide a government identification with birthday, copy of high school diploma or transcript, copies of CPR and First Aid certification, and sign Enrollment Agreement and Statement of Understanding prior to award disbursement. Amslee Institute will disburse awards to selected students.
Failure to Meet the Program Requirements and Appeal Process
A student who does not meet the program requirements shall be ineligible to continue in the program. An applicant may appeal to the institution by providing proof of illness or other emergencies beyond the applicant’s control. This appeal must be filed within 30 days.
All scholarships are provided to eligible and selected applicants without discriminating on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability or marital status.
