I have the childcare work experience hours for the Intermediate program but should I enroll in the Advanced to save money?
It depends on how close you are to the required hours for the Advanced program. If you will not complete at least 500 hours of childcare experience within 12 weeks, then enroll in the Intermediate program. If you will have more than 500 hours of childcare experience within 12 weeks, you can enroll in the Advanced program. You must meet all the program requirements within the allotted time to earn the diploma and certification.
Will I need to buy textbooks?
No, all the course materials are available online and included in the tuition and fees. Every course has a study guide that can be downloaded and used to capture notes from the course. The courses are copyrighted and cannot be saved on a personal computer in any way. The exceptions are reference materials and course study guides, which can be downloaded from the Additional References page in the student portal. Any personal notes taken during the program can be saved as a reference. Amslee Institute grants unlimited access to all the course materials during the 12 weeks of enrollment.
I am not living in the United States, can I enroll?

What are the enrollment requirements?
Enrollment requires students to be at least 16 years old, have a government-issued identification (from any country), and be currently enrolled in or have completed high school (or equivalent).
I wasn’t paid on the books, does this work experience count?
Yes. Amslee Institute does not ask how employees were paid. If a current or past employer completes and signs a form provided in the online student portal stating work was completed, then the experience counts towards the work experience requirement.
What documentation is needed to demonstrate childcare work experience?
Work experience must be paid and must include direct supervisor responsibility to care for at least one child between the ages of 0 and 13 (or up to age 18 if a child has been diagnosed as having special needs). Care provided to siblings or other family members does not qualify.
For each employment experience, the company or family name, job title, dates of employment, and contact information are required. To complete the work experience requirement, students download a form from their online student portal. The student completes the form and submits a W2, paystub, or other documentation as proof of employment. If employment documents do not exist, students can ask the current or former employer to complete and sign a form (also available in the online student portal) which will be accepted as proof of employment. Alternatively, the employer can choose to speak with an Amslee Institute admissions officer to confirm the employment.
Can I skip some classes and still take the proficiency exam to earn the diploma?
No, students must complete all courses and submit the required documents prior to the exam. The exam is locked by the online learning system until the program requirements are completed.
Program Completion and Career Services
How can graduates work with Amslee Institute’s partners?
Graduates and Amslee Institute partners – reputable Nanny Agencies and Domestic Placement Services across the United States – have the option but not an obligation to work with each other. Graduates seek top jobs that are often filled by agencies and agencies recruit top talent to fill their best jobs. Amslee Institute provides information and introductions but all job placement services provided to graduates by a Nanny Agency or Domestic Placement Organization are the sole responsibility of that agency or organization. It is up to the graduate and agency to engage with each other. Amslee Institute does not guarantee employment.
What career services are included with the program?
Job placement courses are included and provide training on how to write a resume, search for a job, interview, complete a work agreement, and negotiate compensation.

The Basic program will load first into the online student portal and the Basic exam will be unlocked when all the Basic level classes and required paperwork are completed. Amslee staff review submitted documents and attempt to approve correctly submitted materials within 1 business day. Amslee Institute reviews all student submissions within 5 business days; however, incomplete documents and/or an inability to verifying work experience may require additional time. The Childcare Diplomas and Certifications are issued electronically immediately upon the completion of the program.
